What exactly is ISO 42001?
Published in December 2023, it is the world's first certifiable AI management system standard. It complements ISO 27001 but focuses on AI-specific risks.
Does it only apply to AI-building companies?
No. It applies to any organization that develops, provides, uses or governs AI systems. Includes adoption of tools like ChatGPT, Copilot or Claude in daily operations.
Can it be combined with ISO 27001?
Yes. In fact it's the recommended combination: 27001 protects information, 42001 governs the AI systems using it. Integrated audits.
Do I need AI in production to certify?
Yes. The standard requires operational evidence. If you don't have AI in production, we start with implementation consulting (see AI Consulting service) and then certify.
